The Effective Philanthropy Lab

Donation Decision Study

Thank you for your interest in our current research on donation decision making!

The Effective Philanthropy Lab at the Stanford Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society researches how people make decisions around charitable giving. Subsequently, we create tools and resources to address the needs defined by the research. Our current research focuses on how people with a combined annual income greater than $100,000 or an equivalent access to assets decide to donate.

Participate

We are actively seeking participants who

  • have a combined annual income greater than $100,000 or an equivalent access to assets
  • have given $1,000 or more to nonprofits in the last 12 months

If this is you, we invite you to take a <10 minute survey about your recent giving at this link.

At the end of the survey you will be prompted to consider if you would like to be interviewed further about your giving. If you give us your email address at this time, we will contact you with more information and to set up the one-on-one interview. We appreciate any and all levels of participation.

If you experience any technical issues or suspect the survey did not display fully for you, please let us know by emailing pgregg@stanford.edu.
