The region’s rapid wealth growth presents unprecedented opportunities for its social investment ecosystem to accelerate and meet the rising demand for social and environmental solutions. In this session, join the conversation with leading philanthropists Veronica Colondam, Founder & CEO of YCAB Foundation; Sunny Singh, Founder & Philanthropist of Edifecs and Roundglass Foundation; and Ichiro Kabasawa, Executive Director of Nippon Foundation as they discuss the key issues and trends shaping Asia’s social investment landscape. Veronica Colondam is the Founder and CEO of YCAB Foundation, a pioneering social enterprise in Indonesia improving education for marginalized youth and empowering women micro-entrepreneurs. YCAB has impacted over 5 million lives and holds General Consultative Status with the UN ECOSOC. It was ranked #28 globally in the Top 100 SPO/NGOs by NGO Advisor (2024).
A recognized thought leader, Veronica’s accolades include Young Global Leader (2006), EY Social Entrepreneur of the Year (2011), Forbes’ 48 Asian Philanthropists (2015), and Asia’s Top Superwomen (2021). She is a Fellow of Asia21 Young Leaders (2007) and has received two United Nations honors (2001, 2017).
Veronica holds double degrees in Communications and Public Relations, and an MSc in Social Sciences from Imperial College London. She completed leadership programs at Harvard, Yale, MIT, INSEAD, and Oxford, focusing on social entrepreneurship and impact investing.
Since 2018, she has served as Independent Commissioner of PT. PNM Indonesia, one of the world’s largest microfinance institutions. She has been on the board of the Asian Venture Philanthropy Network (AVPN) for nearly a decade and has chaired it since 2022.

Gurpreet (Sunny) Singh, an Indian-born American founder and philanthropist, has dedicated his life to transforming healthcare and wellbeing. He built Edifecs into a global healthcare technology powerhouse before launching Roundglass, a movement to make Wholistic Wellbeing (the “W” stands for “whole”) universally accessible. The Roundglass Living platform delivers neuroscience-backed wellbeing tools, while Roundglass Giving, Sunny’s philanthropic initiative, has helped more than two million people in India through education, sustainability, and sports, including the Punjab Football Club.
Sunny earned a bachelor’s degree at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology and two master’s degrees on a full scholarship in the United States. Sunny is redefining how the world thinks about wellbeing—one innovation at a time.

Ichiro Kabasawa is an Executive Director at The Nippon Foundation. His work primarily focuses on international projects, including promoting social inclusion for persons with disabilities, supporting small-scale farmers in Africa affected by climate change, managing scholarship programs, advancing Japanese studies, and building partnerships with foundations across Asia.
Before joining The Nippon Foundation in 2017, he worked as a journalist at NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation) for over 20 years. He was posted both in Japan and overseas, including assignments at the Bangkok and Washington, D.C. bureaus. During his time in Washington, he mainly covered the U.S. Department of Defense, reporting on the Iraq War and U.S. military operations in Afghanistan from the field. His primary area of expertise was national security, with a particular focus on the U.S. military.

Rohit Menezes is a partner in Bridgespan’s San Francisco office. Through his work, he hopes to help build a vibrant civil society reinforced by dynamic leaders, community-led nonprofits, and justice-oriented philanthropists.
Over the last 15+ years at Bridgespan, Rohit has served as an advisor to a wide range of nonprofits/NGOs and foundations in the United States and India on strategy and operations. Rohit has often led client and knowledge-generating work on topics related to community, including on place-based change, peer-driven change, and effective community-based multi-service organizations. Select clients include Harlem Children’s Zone, UpTogether, St. Anthony’s Foundation, The Bail Project, Skoll Foundation, and Tata Trusts. Rohit has a particular interest in and commitment to supporting Native American sovereignty and has led much of Bridgespan’s work with Native-serving and Native-led organizations.
From 2015-2017, Rohit served as the Founding Partner of Bridgespan’s Mumbai office.
Rohit has co-authored a range of Bridgespan publications including “When Peers Work Together to Drive Social Change,” “Why Indian Nonprofits Are Experts at Scaling Up,” and “Next Generation Community Revitalization.”
Prior to Bridgespan, Rohit had experience as a corporate management consultant at Boston Consulting Group, a telecommunications consultant, and a crisis communicator. He also co-founded a telecommunications start-up.
Rohit has a B.A. from Williams College and an M.B.A. from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He has Board experience with Avaya Global Connect (public, for-profit), Safe Horizon (nonprofit), Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (nonprofit), and Rachael’s Women’s Center (nonprofit).
