Antidemocratic Effects of the Internet & Social Media: A Survey

This paper surveys popular and academic literature on, first, the challenges that social media and the Internet, more broadly, may present to democracy and, second, the unique vulnerabilities of several key social media platforms and their approaches to moderation, particularly in the face of increasing public pressure.
