Wei Luo

Wei Luo holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from Yale University. During her appointment at Stanford PACS, Luo will be involved in the Civic Life of Cities project and also engaged in her personal research on economic sociology and associational life in China. Her book project, entitled “The Entrepreneurial Organization of Finance: The Emergence of Family Banking in Southwest China, 1900 – 1950,” analyzes the emergence and development of family enterprises, especially family banks, in the first half of the twentieth century, and the formation of regional financial markets based on family connections.
