Susie Rhim

Originally from Seoul, South Korea, Susie is an undergraduate student at California State University, East Bay. Her areas of interest are organizational sociology, social movements, and higher education. She is expected to graduate May 2020 and will start her PhD studies in August 2020. Her current research project explores how undergraduate students’ race, first-generational status, and perceived institutional barriers affect how they interact with college professors. For her PhD project, she plans to further study the influence of institutional decision-making by looking at how diversity initiatives affect the integration of  underrepresented students in predominantly-white institutions.
