Lorena (Lore) Avilés Trujillo

Lorena (Lore) Avilés Trujillo is a Sociology PhD student and Knight-Hennessy Scholar at Stanford University. Her research interests are organizations, legal, formal, and otherwise, which meet people’s denied human needs. To this end, she has previously researched migrant smuggling organizations in the Mexico-US border and is now researching reproductive rights  following the overturn of Roe v. Wade. Prior to Stanford, Lore graduated from Harvard with degrees in Sociology and Ethnicity, Migration, and Rights and also worked at TED Conferences, driving strategy, conducting DEI data analyses, and researching content. She is supported by the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship and the Enhancing Diversity in Graduate Education Doctoral Fellowship.
