Chenyan Jia

Chenyan Jia is a postdoctoral scholar in The Program on Democracy and the Internet (PDI) at Stanford University. Her research interests lie at the intersection of political communication and human-computer interaction, algorithmic bias, and computational social science. Her work has examined the influence of emerging media technologies such as misinformation detection algorithms and automated journalism on people’s political attitudes and news consumption behaviors. Her work typically appears in AI/HCI venues and mass communication journals including CSCW, ICWSM, Journal of Artificial Intelligence, Mass Communication and Society, and Media and Communication. Her research has been awarded the best paper award at AAAI ’21. In 2023 Fall, she will be joining Northeastern University as an Assistant Professor in the School of Journalism in the College of Arts, Media, and Design with a joint appointment in the Khoury College of Computer Sciences.
