Andrew Woods

Andrew Keane Woods is an assistant professor of law at the University of Kentucky College of Law and in the Spring 2017, a visiting professor at the University of Texas School of Law, where he is teaching a class on law and policy problems in the technology sector.

Woods’s teaching and research interests include cybersecurity and the regulation of technology, contract law, international law (both public and private), and empirical legal studies. His scholarship has appeared in the Stanford Law Review, the Harvard International Law Journal, the Virginia Journal of International Law, and the Chicago Journal of International Law. His scholarship has been cited in the Economist, the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, Bloomberg, and NPR. Woods has written for the New York Times, the International Herald Tribune, the Financial Times, and Slate. He is a contributing editor to the Lawfare blog.

Before joining the faculty of the University of Kentucky, Woods was a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University (at the Center for International Security and Cooperation and at the Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society) and before that he was a Climenko Fellow at Harvard Law School. He holds an A.B. from Brown University, a J.D. from Harvard Law School and a Ph.D. in Politics from the University of Cambridge, where he was a Gates Scholar.
