Education for Philanthropy Professionals Spring Course

April 13 - 28th, 2023

The EPLI team is excited to announce that it will be hosting its Education for Philanthropy Professionals (EPP) course this Spring.

This six-day course provides participants with an in-depth learning experience led by Stanford PACS’s team of researchers and outside experts in the field. Participants will leave the course with the essential tools and knowledge they need to practice effective philanthropy with confidence in their work.

This course is ideal for senior executives at small-to-mid-sized family foundations or individuals managing charitable giving within a family office, philanthropy advisors or consultants who have taken on central roles supporting one or more individual philanthropists, or family members playing a substantial role in directing their family’s philanthropy through a charitable vehicle such as a foundation or donor advised fund.

Each day will consist of 3-4 sessions that take deep dives into a variety of topics followed by discussions with that day’s facilitators. Previous EPP courses have included sessions on topics such as:

  • Understanding social problems, their causes, and strategies for solutions
  • The social and historical context of philanthropy
  • Systems thinking
  • Best practices for structuring gifts to organizations and relationships with grantees
  • Monitoring and evaluation
  • And more!
