AI and Democracy: Pursuing the Possibilities

April 8th, 2021 - 11:00 am to 12:00 pm PDT

Democracy and the Digital Transformation of Our Lives

Digital technologies have created the largest transformation in our era – how we work, socialize, build community, and participate in our governments have all been overhauled by digital tools and platforms.

The book Digital Technology and Democratic Theory examines how these digital tools have changed the way we participate as citizens in democratic governments. In this panel discussion, two of the book’s editors, HAI Associate Director Rob Reich and Digital Civil Society Lab Director Lucy Bernholz, discuss their findings with moderator Margaret Levi, the director of the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences.

This event is co-sponsored by the Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (HAI) Center at Stanford University.
